Tamil 24 Televison is going to end test transmission on 31-10-2010, and will show a testcard on Eurobird 9A satellite on 9 degree East from November. But don't worry - this does not mean that the channel has gone forever. Tamil 24 Television will be back on 14th January 2011, and it will be launched officially on this day with regular programmes.
Tamil 24 Television is currently informing the viewers about this move, and the reason why they will stop test transmission is;
- Technical work in their studio in Paris, so the channel can be telecasted live from there. Currently the test transmission is telecasted trough fiber cables, which is the reason behind the low quality of their telecast.
- Preparation of programmes to their channel.
Tamil 24 Television has the possibility to continue their test transmission until 15th January 2011, but it costs a lot to telecast the repeated 1-2 hours programs until then in satellite fee, and this is a kind of waste of money, which could be used to improve their channel.
Tamil 24 Television will start on Pongal day on 14th January 2011, which is the first day in the first month "Thai" in the Tamil calender. Already a popular Tamil channel, which is not existing now, was started on Pongal day in 2001.
With the arrive of Tamil 24 Television, viewers will get a new Tamil channel, which will not primarily focus on news, cinema, Indian Tamil programmes or serials... Tamil 24 Television will try to give different kind of programs and support Tamil culture with popular wellknown presenters from Europe and also new presenters, who want to give quality programs to Tamil viewers.
