Recently Deepam TV announced that they have got a new owner. On June 11th 2000 Deepam TV was started by East West Broadcast Ltd. Today the channel has been taken over by a new company named Global Media & Entertainment Ltd. The new owner has already made some changes in Deepam TV. The channel has started telecasting on Eurobird 9A (9 degree East) satellite and will leave Hotbird (13 degree East) in a few days.

The company is also testing a webradio called Deepam Radio on their website, - currently only streaming non-stop music. According to Deepam Radio facebook page, the radio will also be started on satellite and it will air programmes with presenters etc. 

According to their another new facebook page called "Deepam Network", the company is also going to launch following services:

• Deepam Movies (upcoming movie channel)
• Deepam Music (upcoming Music channel)
• Deepam (unnamed upcoming joke channel)
• Tamil vaanavil (Monthly Tamil Paper)
• Deepam Radio (News & Entertainment Radio)
• Deepam Business dictionary (Upcoming)
• Deepam online (upcoming internet News site)
• Tamil Vaanavil publication (publication of Tamil books)
• Deepam Events (Event Management)
• Deepam Screens (Screen & Distribute Movies)
• Deepam Marketing (Total Marketing solutions for ethnic Businesses) 

When the new channels will be started is still unknown. But it doesn't seem to be that they have got licence from British Ofcom authority yet. But it's going to be very interesting to see the new changes by Deepam TV in Tamil media field in Europe and if it can compete with Sun Network and the other channels and get subscribers back.
