Animal Planet,India’s number 1 wildlife channel that immerses viewers in entire spectrum of life in the animal kingdom with high quality content, willkickstart 20th anniversary celebrations in India on July 15, 2019. Star India will be launching its next sports regional offering in the form of Star Sports Marathi. The sports channel is set to launch on 15 July.
Viewers who wish to opt for the channel can get it for Rs 19. A tweet shared by the company's official handle said: "Star Sports 1 Marathi will launch on July 15. Please contact your service provider regarding its availability."
Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation (TACTV), the State-owned MSO of Tamil Nadu, is soon jumping on the OTT bandwagon. In addition to it, the MSO will also be providing IPTV services and internet connectivity to rural and urban households. The information was shared by the state minister for Information Technology M Manikandan in the assembly on Wednesday.
Closed TV transmitter set ups of the Doordarshan will now be turned to All India Radio set ups by the Prasar Bharati as part of its efforts to rationalise its set ups.
This is a part of the public broadcaster’s plan of transferring the set up of Doordarshan kendras across the country which are not currently broadcasting and are closed.
On closure of the DD set ups, the additional staff who were earlier deployed at those centres would be transferred to the AIR stations for “effective broadcasting” as per the requirements of the posts.This was in response to a Parliament question if the government has plans transferring the set up of Doordarshan kendras across the country that are currently not broadcasting anything.
