ibctamilThe UK-based London Tamil Media Ltd., has opened a new studio for IBC Tamil and CineUlagam.com in Chennai in India. Already a production devision called Muthtthamil Maalai produced shows for IBC Tamil TV, but recently IBC Tamil got licence from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIP) in India to operate the channel in India. The channel has not launched yet in India, but if they decide to launch as granted in non-news category, IBC Tamil TV will be the first Tamil TV channel from Europe, which is going to telecast in India.
Earlier we have only seen India-based Tamil channels like Sun TV, Star Vijay etc. expanding to Europe, and other parts of the world while overseas Tamil channels from e.g. Canada and Europe only had production studios in India.

IBC Tamil alaready have studios in UK, France and Sri Lanka. In June this year IBC Tamil expanded to Canada and opened a studio there along with a big stage show called IBC Thamizha in Scotia Bank Arena in Toronto.

It is expected that IBC Tamil is going to expand to Australia in the near future too.

London Tamil Media Ltd. is currently operating IBC Tamil TV, IBC Isai, IBC Pagadi, IBC Mazhalai and IBC Events TV as free-TV channels on web, and pay TV channels on Yupp TV. IBC Tamil TV is also available as pay-TV channel on Asian Television Network (ATN) in Canada as "ATN IBC Tamil".
