As part of this campaign, the global streaming platform now rolls out a slew of initiatives across multiple priority markets, with the Middle East being amongst the first few that it initiates its immersive customer engagement activities in.
Lyca's Athavan TV is currently announcing on their channel, that they are soon going to launch to new channels. The two new channels are Athavan Comedy and Athavan Movies. Both channels are going to be HD channels like the other Athavan TV channels and will be launched on Lyca TV IPTV box. It is also expected that Athavan Comedy will be available for free on Athavan TV website, while it is unsure if Athavan Movies will be available for free on Athavan TV website.
Having disrupted the Tamil Nadu market with its launch last year, Colors Tamil is planning to strengthen its footprint in the market that has strong players like Sun TV, Zee Tamil, and Star Vijay.
“We plan to strengthen our footprint in the Tamil Nadu market and become one of the top players with content that stands out and initiatives that are talked about,” said Colors Tamil business head Anup Chandrasekharan.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) issued two more TV channel licences in the month of April, with Media Worldwide Ltd and IBC Tamil Private Ltd being its beneficiaries.
Media Worldwide Ltd and IBC Tamil Pvt Ltd applied for a licence under the channel name of Bong and IBC Tamil respectively under the non-news category.
