London Tamil Media Ltd. has made an official announcement regarding their upcoming Tamil TV-station, IBC Tamil TV. It is going to start on Eurobird 9A (9 degree East): 11727, Vertical, SR 27500 and fec 3/4- this is the same frequency where Global Tamil Vision (GTV) is telecasting - and where Deepam TV also was available before April 1st. The channel is going to start on Tamil New Year on 19th April and is going to telecast in high definition (HD). There is currently high expectations to IBC Tamil TV, which i s expected to be run in a very professional way by Eelam Tamils and with wellknown presenters.

Currently Deepam TV, GTV, TTN and Athavan TV are telecasted by Eelam Tamils in Europe. Athavan TV is almost only telecasting programmes from Puthu Yugam TV and Puthiya Thalaimurai along with movies and special live telecasts. With TTN you don't have the feel of watching the same TTN before it was closed down in 2007, and GTV has a lot of advertisements. Also Deepam TV has lost its old spirit. So it will be interesting to see if IBC Tamil TV can compete with the Indian Tamil channels in Europe - like Sun TV and Vijay TV, and give the viewers good quality programmes and make Eelam Tamils proud in the media field. 
It does not seem to be that IBC Tamil TV will be available live through IBC's website, so viewers have to tune in the channel on Eurobird 9A satellite when it starts. It is also unknown if the channel will be available on different IPTV platforms like Chitram TV, Thisai TV, Saalai TV and DBX. Keep an eye on Media Asia website for more details about IBC Tamil TV.
