ibctamilIBC Tamil Radio and IBC Asia Radio have started on Eurobird 9A (9 degree East): 11727, Vertical, SR 27500 and fec 3/4. Since IBC Tamil TV has started on Eurobird 9A, it seems to be that London Tamil Media Ltd. is moving IBC Tamil Radio from Eutelsat Hotbird (13 degree East) to Eurobird 9A now. IBC Tamil Radio was launched on 9th June in 1997 as the second 24 H Tamil radio-station in UK & Europe after TRT Tamil Oli from Paris. Since 1997 IBC Tamil Radio has been a voice of Eelam Tamils and has become one of the leading Tamil radio-stations in UK & Europe, broadcasting on Eutelsat Hotbird (13 degree East): 12597, V, SR 27500 and fec 3/4.

With IBC Tamil Radio moving from Eutelsat Hotbird to Eurobird 9A, TRT Tamil Oli radio is left as the one and only Tamil station on Eutelsat Hotbird. In the past many of the Tamil radio-channels who have broadcasted on Eutelsat Hotbird, have become only online radio-stations or ceased broadcasting, while ILC Tamil has also moved to Eurobird 9A.

When IBC Tamil Radio was operated by Sathy Media, the company launched IBC Tamil Radio on DAB radio in Greater London and also launched a sister-station, IBC Asia, for the Northindian listeners in London on DAB and on Hotbird satellite. IBC Asia later left Hotbird satellite but has now relaunched on satellite with IBC Tamil on Eurobird 9A.

IBC Tamil TV is currently testing on the same frequency and the channel is expected to end test transmission and launch its official programmes on 9th June on IBC Tamil's birthday.
