Viacom18, the 51:49 joint venture (JV) between TV18 and Viacom, is planning to launch a Kannada movie channel Colors Kannada Cinema. The pay channel has been priced at Rs 1 under the new tariff regime.
Colors Kannada Cinema will deepen Viacom18’s presence in the Karnataka market. The company’s Colors Kannada is a market leader. Viacom18 further strengthened its grip on the market by launching a second GEC named Colors Super.

Media conglomerate ZEEL will launch its Malayalam GEC Zee Keralam by November. The channel has been priced at Rs 0.10 based on Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s new tariff order.
ZEEL will launch Zee Keralam in SD as well as HD format.

Lyca has rebranded its music channels, Lyca TV Music HD and Lyca TV Classic, to Athavan Music and Athavan Classic. Both channels are available through Lyca TV IPTV box and Lyca TV Music was also available for free on the channel's website, www.lycatvmusic.com, which is now redirecting to www.athavantv.com. Lyca TV Music's facebook page has also been closed down due to the changes.

Sun TV Network Limited (Sun TV) reported improved numbers across all important parameters for the quarter ended 30 June 2018 (Q1 2019, quarter or period under review) as compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year (Q1 2018). The company reported 40.8 percent higher year on year (y-o-y) standalone total income in the quarter under review at Rs 1,159.39 crore as compared to Rs 823.38 crore in Q1 2018.
