TV9 Network held ‘News9’ license has been renamed to TV9 Tamil. The broadcaster had last year shuttered down News9 to focus on a digital-only English News channel post which the TV license remained idle. The broadcaster has been testing TV9 Tamil on multiple MSOs in Tamil Nadu for quite some time now.

The broadcaster has been testing TV9 Tamil on multiple MSOs in Tamil Nadu for quite some time now.

TV9 had got the license initially on 30th November 2007 to operate News9 with permission to uplink and downlink and operate in Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, English, and other Indian languages.

The channel is currently telecasting free-to-air on G-Sat 30 (83 degree East): 3925, H, SR 28500 and fec 5/6.
