This one is for Tamil speaking devotees of Tirupati. From time to time over the past few years, The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) which administers the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple – the richest temple of its type in the world - has been making announcements about launching its Telugu channel in Tamil. But so far it has only provided Tamil and Kannada audio feeds for its Telugu service.
Now, the TTD once again announced last week that it would be taking a stab at a full-fledged Tamil version of SVBC to start with, followed by an exclusive spiritual channel in Kannada. Dates were not given, but the management said it would happen soon.

DishTV, Asia’s largest DTH service provider, in yet another move to diversify their presence in the DTH market added Colors Super, a Kannada general entertainment channel in its bouquet for its viewers. DishTV now offers the widest range of regional language channels and also has the widest overall content basket with an unmatched bouquet of 525+ channels and services.

Zee News, which recently became free-to-air, has bagged a slot on Doordarshan’s FTA platform Freedish.
Zee News was the lone channel to win the bid in the auction, for which the reserve price was 4.3 crore.
When approached, a senior DD official refused to give the figure at which the channel won the auction, as the exact amount after various adjustments was not yet clear.
Meanwhile, Freedish – which currently carries eighty TV channels and 23 radio channels – will hold its 29th auction on 11 August 2016.
It also carries two channels as FTA which are otherwise pay channels - Aajtak and Big TV.

After the recent terror attacks by ISIS in Bangladesh, the controversial preacher Zakir Naik and his Peace TV have come under immense scrutiny and there is a renewed debate on monitoring the content on TV Channels. Information shared by the government in the Lok Sabha indicates that as many as five different complaints were received against the telecast of Peace TV in various local cable networks. While guidelines for monitoring & regulation exist, available data & information shows that the implementation has failed to a great extent.

Tamil satellite channel Jaya TV HD is all set to air block buster movies every Sunday under its new series- Blockbuster Sunday Movie Festival that began today. As a part of the series, the channel aired two parts of Kabali, which included the making of the film at 12 pm and an exclusive at 1.30 pm today to mark the opening of the series.
