Sun TV Network reports 53% rise in revenues for Q1 FY11
Sun TV Network, one of the leading media and entertainment conglomerates in India, has reported a 53% rise in revenues for the first quarter ended June 30, 2010. The revenues for the period stood at Rs 440.44 crores against Rs 287.65 crore in the corresponding period previous year.The net profit for Q1 FY11 was Rs 170.96 crore highlighting an increase of 42.70% from Rs 119.80 crores. The EBITDA percentage grew from 77.74% to 81.71%.

Network18, Sun form distribution JV
MUMBAI: In a significant development that is set to deeply impact the industry, Network18 Group and Sun Network have formed a distribution joint venture company.
The new entity, to be called Sun18, will start with the distribution of 33 channels across all platforms including cable, DTH, IPTV, HITS and MMDS.
DD DTH to increase free to air channels from 59 to 200
Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Ambika Soni said that the phased expansion of DD DTH platform which proposed to increase free to air channels from 59 to 200 would offer a wide bouquet to the viewers. The digitalization of AIR and DD would enable remote and far flung regions to receive higher quality signals.

Vijay TV to air 3rd edition of Super Singer from 12 July
BANGALORE: Star's Tamil offering Vijay TV announced the launch of the third edition of Super Singer titled Airtel Super Singer Season 3.The reality show will air Monday to Thursday at 9 pm, starting 12 July.
The ground level auditions took place at Chennai where a Vijay TV release claims that thousands of interested and aspiring young singers took part.

Udaya TV launches epic series to feed 7 pm block
MUMBAI: Udaya TV has launched a new fiction property, Seethe - Rama Katha Hridayam, for its 7 pm band.Produced by TV content creator Cinevistaas, the epic saga is targeted at the Kannada audiences and will run from Monday to Friday.
