IBC Tamil TV was officially launched on 19th April at ILEC Conference Centre in London, UK. The famous award-winning film maker, writer and journalist, Callum Macrae, who scripted the "No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka" attended the event. He gave the rights to telecast the programme in Tamil on IBC Tamil TV.

Famoues TV-presenter, B. H. Abdul Hameed, and radio-presenters from BBC Tamilosai, Vimal Sockanathan and BBC Tamilosai producer Anandi Suryapragasam, also parcitipated in the event. Radio-presenter, A. C. Tharcicious, who named IBC Tamil, back in 1997 also attended the show. He is now running a radio-station in London, called ILC Tamil. Journalist S. M. Abdul Jafar from India, who is working with Indian politics from Tamil Nadu, also attended the show.

The above five personalities and IBC Tamil Radio presenter, Logesh, who was one of the first radio presenter on IBC, were awarded through Callum Macrae at the show.

IBC Tamil TV is going to telecast from a new high-tech studio from London, and the channel has also studios in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The channel is now available through Eurobird 9A (9 degree East): 11727, Vertical, SR 27500 and fec 3/4 - free-to-air and will also be available through the newly launched www.ibctamil.com website.

IBC Tamil TV is going to telecast Sri Lankan/Indian and International news, music/drama/serials by Eelam Tamils, politics and sports-programmes, mega serials, new movies etc.
