Revive and revamp Arasu Cable TV Corporation: cable operators
Cable operators in the State have asked Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to revive and revamp the now defunct Arasu Cable TV Corporation to offer more channels at lower cost for the benefit of consumers.
The Thamizhaga Cable TV Operator's General Welfare Association (TCOA), primarily formed to oppose the monopoly in cable trade, held its executive committee meeting here on Friday.
In resolutions adopted unanimously, the TCOA asked the government to make the control rooms of Arasu Cable TV Corporation functional immediately and take steps to end the monopoly of Sun Network in the trade.
As the previous government had used police personnel of the video piracy cell to control the cable industry, the association asked the Chief Minister to appoint police personnel with a neutral mindset in the cell.

Along its journey, the channel has come up with some shows that remain trendsetters and still evoke good memories and most popular among them happens to be 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'. At the same time, 'Aata' despite controversies coming its way, did scale high on the popularity charts. And naturally Zee Telugu describes these shows as 'channel drivers'.
