Sun Direct offers IPL in HD feed
Sun Direct is all set to bring the IPL season in high-definition (HD) feed. Sun Direct, the first DTH player to launch HD services in India, follows up its telecast of Indian Premier League, ommonwealth and the Fifa Cup 2010 in HD. Existing subscribers of Sun Direct HD can watch the live T20 ad free cricket in high definition free of cost.

Colors partners Virgin Media to expand reach in UK
Viacom18 has entered into a distribution partnership with Virgin Media to launch its flagship Hindi general entertainment channel Colors on their cable platform.
Colors is already available on the Sky platform in the UK as a part of the 'View Asia' bouquet since Jan 2010. With the launch on cable, the channel hopes to significantly expand its reach.

Star raids Incable for piracy of its channels
Enforcement agencies recently conducted a copyright raid on Indusind Media and Communications Pvt Ltd (Incable) network in Surat based on the complaint filed by company's officials. The action was initiated as Incable was found transmitting signals beyond its authorized area of operation. In reaction to the copyright raid, STAR channels were switched off and remained unavailable to many cable homes serviced by Incable in Mumbai, Nasik, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Solapur, Sangli, Ahmedabad, Baroda and Bangalore since March 22, 2011.
Sun TV selects Intelsat 17 to expand programming reach
Sun TV Network has signed a multi-year, multi-transponder contract with Intelsat SA, the fixed satellite services provider, for C-band capacity on the recently launched Intelsat 17 satellite (IS-17).
The agreement marks the second major programmer to join the line-up at Intelsat's newly expanded video neighborhood in the Indian Ocean region.
Sun TV will use the new satellite capacity to expand its programming distribution to viewers across India and beyond. Sun TV will migrate its current 20 channels to IS-17 and use additional bandwidth to support its expansion plans.
