Star India to launch Hindi and English action movie channels
Star India, the leading broadcasting company, is gearing up to launch two new television channels in the next two months, a top executive confirmed.
The two proposed channels include one Hindi action movie channel and one English movie channel in the movie genre.
Star India has already got the license for the Hindi channel and awaiting the license for the English one.
"We will launch the English and Hindi action movie channels sometime in the next two months. Wh have got license for Hindi channel," Star India COO Sanjay Gupta told Indiantelevision.com.

KBC reaches South India with Star channels
Almost 12 years after it was first aired on Star Plus, Kaun banega Crorepati (KBC), the game show, will now travel down south, on Star India channels.
Soon, Vijay TV (Tamil), Suvarna (Kannada) and Asianet (Malayalam) are going to have their own versions of KBC.
On Vijay TV, the show is christened as 'Neengalam Vellalam Oru Kodi' and will launch by mid-February. The channel has also roped in Tamil actor Suriya to host the show and make a debut on television.
ATN launches Aapka Colors in Canada
Colors, the Hindi general entertainment channel from the Viacom18 stable, has officially launched in Canada, as Aapka Colors.
The channel is being distributed through Asian Television Network (ATN), one of the Canada's largest South Asian Broadcaster, on Rogers Cable in Ontario and on recently launched Bell Fibe TV in Toronto and Montreal.
Indiantelevision had first reported in March this year that Viacom18 Media has signed an exclusive distribution deal for the channel.
While Rogers Cable gives the Hindi GEC a reach of about two million households, Bell Fibe TV subscriber base is of 20,000.
Sky announces launch of Hindi film channel UMP Movies
Hindi language film channel UMP Movies launches on Sky today (December 12th 2011), bringing a touch of Bollywood glamour to the satellite broadcaster's electronic programme guide (EPG).
The digital TV station can be found at position 797 on the EPG and boasts a library of more than 400 titles, with highlights including recent blockbusters such as No One Killed Jessica, Tees Maar Khan and Tere Bin Laden.
