Sun TV Q1 net up 10%, ad growth slows
The slowdown seems to be catching up on India's largest regional broadcaster Sun TV Network as its operating income grew just 3.07 per cent for the fiscal first-quarter.
A strong 25 per cent jump in subscription revenue from DTH to Rs 840 million was somewhat offset by muted advertising growth. Sun TV Network's ad revenue rose to Rs 2.31 billion for the three-month period ended June 2011, just four per cent up from the year-ago period.

DD Direct Plus main e-auction on 28 July
The mock drill of e-auction of 20 slots on Doordarshan's free-to-air direct-to-home platform DD Direct Plus was held smoothly today after the e-auctioneer was changed in view of the technical hitches that had come up when the dummy round was held on 20 July.
DD sources told indiantelevision.com that the dummy and mock drill will continue tomorrow as well. The e-auctioneer is NCDEX Spot of Mumbai and was part of the e-auctioneers that had been shortlisted for the auctions.
Suvarna plans content syndication of talk show with radio, print
Star Network's Kannada offering Suvarna TV is in talks with a couple of Bangalore radio stations and a couple of Kannada newspapers for sharing the content of a new talk show that it will start airing on the 9 to 10 pm slot on weekends, every Saturday and Sunday starting 23 July.
The show, 'Lion Oats Neena? Naana?' (You or me?), will be hosted by Bollywood and South Indian female actor and talk show presenter Lakshmi.

Kalanithi Maran summoned by Chennai police
Sun TV Network's founder-promoter Kalanithi Maran has received police summons in connection with cheating cases lodged against the company's movie division Sun Pictures.
This concerns a case against his key aide, Hansraj Saxena, who has been charged with defrauding and intimidating a film distributor.
Media reports state that Maran's lawyers have requested for some more time for his appearance at the police station as he had some pre-fixed appointments until 26 July.
