Suvarna obtains injunction against airing of Zee Telugu reality show
The Star Network's Kannada offering, Suvarna, has obtained a temporary injunction against airing of Zee Telugu's reality show 'Kondaveeti Raaja Kotalo Rani' (KRKR).
Suvarna has claimed that the show violates copyrights of its show 'Halli Hyda Pyteg Banda', which had garnered huge GRPs and TRPs for the channel.

Doordarshan to study impact of DD India overseas
Doordarshan has floated a global tender in eight countries in different regions of the world to study the impact of DD India programming in those places. The countries selected are those with a large number of people of Indian origin or non-resident Indians.
Earlier, DD had conducted a similar survey in 2006-07 in seven countries in the Middle East

After many successful seasons, Vijay TV's Bhakthi Thiruvizha is back in its eighth season. The five-day spiritual fest which began on March 16 at Chennai's Narada Gana Sabha, will see scholars and singers present discourses and music performances. This festival was inaugurated by Swami Gnanananda Saraswathi on 16 March. The programmes are as follows:
On March 18, at 5 p.m., Sindhuja will render Upanyasam on 'Pandurangan Magimai'. At 6 p.m., Upanyasam on 'Thirumagal Thiruarul' will be by Ananthapadmanabachariyar. At 7 p.m., it will be time for songs on Lord Murugan by Pushpa Anand. At 7.45 p.m., . Karunakarachariyar talk on 'Manathirukku Iniyasinam'.
Kalanithi Maran is richest Indian mediaperson
Sun TV Network chairman and managing director Kalanithi Maran has emerged as the richest media person from India with a net worth of $3.5 billion. Maran stays ahead of Essel Group chairman and founder of Zee network Subhash Chandra, according to Forbes magazine's list of billionaires.
Maran occupies the 310th spot in the Forbes rich list, ahead of Chandra and family who are ranked No. 393 with a net worth of $2.9 billion.
The Times Group chairman Indu Jain takes the No. 440 position with assets valued at $2.6 billion.
Anil Ambani, who has business interests ranging from telecom to energy and media among others, is, however, way ahead. With $8.8 billion, he ranks No. 103 internationally and eighth in India.
STAR channels have left Eurobird 9A
Latest update 11/3-11: Media Asia has been in contact with STAR Vijay distribution office in Chennai, and they told us that it can take up to two months before the STAR channels will be available in Europe again. The company was only testing STAR Vijay, STAR Plus, STAR Gold and Channel [V] on Eurobird 9A, and they are planning to launch these channels permanently in Europe within two months, and the channels are more likely to return on Eurobird 9A (9 degree East) they said. They also mentioned that they were going to encrypt the channels when they return. STAR Plus, STAR Gold, STAR Vijay Intl. and Channel [V] India have left Eurobird 9A (9 degree East): 11804, Vertical, SR 27500 and fec 3/4, again. These channels suddenly emerged on this satellite position on 29/10-2010, and has been telecasting free-to-air until now.
